About Us
We’re Torie and Nick — the husband‑and‑wife team behind Little Locals and parents to two energetic little ones who inspired this entire space. Like so many families in Carroll County, we struggled to find kid‑friendly indoor play options close to home. Most days, we were driving 45 minutes just to give our kids a chance to explore, move, and enjoy fun family experiences. We knew our community deserved something better, so we decided to build it.
Little Locals was created for families like ours — parents who want a place that feels fresh, clean, safe, and genuinely fun for all ages. A place where kids can burn energy, use their imagination, and make new friends, while adults can finally relax knowing everything is taken care of.
Our professional backgrounds are in sales, marketing, and business development within the health field, but our passion has always been creating meaningful experiences. We bring that same intention into Little Locals: movement in the play gym, imaginative play in the tiny town, and opportunities for social connection woven throughout. Most spaces offer one or the other — we wanted both, because childhood needs both.
At the heart of Little Locals is our shared philosophy: childhood should feel joyful, imaginative, and unhurried. Play is where confidence, curiosity, and connection naturally grow. We’re committed to building a space where families feel welcomed, supported, and part of something bigger. Community thrives when everyone feels seen and valued, and thoughtful hospitality is built into every detail — from the way we greet you to the care we put into maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting environment. Our goal is simple: a place where kids can explore freely, parents can breathe easier, and everyone feels at home the moment they walk in.
Outside of Little Locals, you’ll usually find us outdoors — walking the trails at Liberty Lake, splashing in creeks, or exploring nature with our two kids (ages 2.5 and 4). Nick was born and raised here in Carroll County, both of our children were born at Carroll Hospital, and we renovated our first home — a full foreclosure flip — the same year we got engaged and planned our wedding. This community is our roots, our home, and the heart behind everything we’re building.
